North Carolina Secretary of State Selects CSI’s Redaction Technology to Provide Protection of Sensitive RecordsCSI Stands out for Unique Approach, High Accuracy, and Proven Track RecordFOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE ORLANDO, Fla. (January 22, 2008) – Computing System Innovations (CSI), America’s leading provider of intelligent redaction solutions, is pleased to announce that it has been selected to provide redaction processing technology for the North Carolina Secretary of State (NC SOS). Due to a new requirement in law, North Carolina must take steps to control the exposure of what is considered “identifying information”. The NC SOS award encompasses the redaction of 6.5 million records, completion within a three month time frame using only labor within the United States, and achieving certifiable results of not less than 99% accuracy. The Corporations Division of the NC Department of the Secretary of State receives legal documents for filing which may contain information designated by the Identity Theft Protection Act of 2005 and its amendments as “identifying information” as defined in N.C.G.S. 14-113.20(b). IntelliDact®, CSI’s award winning technology will be utilized to remove “identifying information” including, but not limited to, social security numbers, drivers license numbers, checking/savings account numbers, credit/debit card numbers, digital signatures, biometric data, and fingerprints. CSI will provide IntelliDact® technology and services to assist in preventing these public records from becoming a source of identity theft. IntelliDact® employs sophisticated intelligence to properly classify documents and identify fields of interest. Three advanced character-recognition engines (i.e. machine, hand and voting) locate and vote on data eligible for IntelliDact to redact and/or index without user intervention. After processing, a "clean" document is created and saved into an image repository or delivered to an e-recording or e-filing system. IntelliDact® provides high volume, high speed, high accuracy unstructured data recognition technology to rapidly locate and reliably redact confidential information within any PDF, TIFF, or GIF image file decreasing the amount of time to comply with information privacy legislation. “CSI is pleased to have IntelliDact® selected by the State of North Carolina as the solution capable of providing redaction for information subject to Identity Theft that extends beyond the social security number. CSI is the inventor of America’s first automated redaction technology and our expertise is wide-ranging and grounded in actual work,” said Henry Sal, President of CSI. “CSI’s IntelliDact® technology is more than capable of meeting new demands in Identity Theft and Privacy Information protection and continues to offer the most cost-effective, high-volume, high accuracy redaction solution with the least amount of manual verification required, irrespective of document contents and formats.” CSI, with early recognition of the widespread problem of Identity Theft, created IntelliDact® and processed America’s first successful automated redaction project in 2004. IntelliDact® continues to lead this industry processing both the largest and fastest automated redaction projects in the nation to date. As an industry leader in the prevention of identity theft, CSI participated in the formulation of an industry whitepaper released by the National Association of Secretaries of State (NASS), and the National Electronic Commerce Coordinating Council (eC3). The white paper, entitled Privacy, Public Access & Policymaking in State Redaction Practices is specifically written for state and local leaders coping with data security in public records. IntelliDact® has been selected for use in enterprise scale redaction projects including the Clerk of Courts for Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach, Marion, Lake, Citrus, Flagler, Martin, Osceola and Polk Counties in Florida; the Secretary of States for Missouri, Colorado and Arizona; the Clerk of Court for Travis County, Texas; the Bernalillo County Metropolitan Court in New Mexico; and the Commonwealth of Virginia.
